Welcome to The Asylum Collective! We're a DID system working to destigmatize DID by posting accurate and educational content.
Mission
Our mission is to help spread awareness for Dissociative Identity Disorder, a very misunderstood and stigmatized mental health disorder. As a diagnosed DID system, we're not unfamiliar with the harmful effects the stigma of DID can have. This blog was created to share our firsthand experiences with DID, in hopes of demystifying such a complex but fascinating disorder.
Vision
Our ultimate goal? We want to help people, specifically other systems like us. This blog marks a very important step in our journey to practicing as a specialized psychiatrist in Nova Scotia. The Canadian province lacks not only psychiatrists in general, but also the medical understanding of DID and its treatment. In providing accurate information on the disorder, we hope to aid the community in understanding what DID is actually like for those who have it.
